Meet David & Kendra!

We’ve been married 12 years, and live in Abbotsford, British Columbia where we have 4 amazing daughters: Claire (7), Everly (5), Daphne (3), and Fiona (1). We love sports, hiking, and travelling! Of all the places we’ve visited, none have fascinated us like Israel/Palestine. The people, the food, and the geography alone make a trip to this part of the Middle East incredibly valuable. We’re convinced that the vivid and awe-inspiring connections that Ancient Middle Eastern history, culture, and language have with biblical studies will encourage your spiritual life, re-invigorate your ministry, and utterly transform you, as they have us throughout the years. We can’t wait to share with you what God has in store for those who make the pilgrimage of a lifetime to the land of the Bible!

David Gubbins, M.A.

David has a Master’s Degree in Biblical History & Geography from Jerusalem University College, and a Master’s Degree in Biblical and Theological Studies from Western Seminary in Portland, Oregon. He’s ordained in the Christian & Missionary Alliance denomination, and has spent the past eleven years teaching and discipling young people vocationally in both the local church and private sector of education. In this context, he’s very passionate about the Hebraic roots of Christianity, biblical geography, and guiding people through the land of Israel/Palestine.

Kendra Gubbins, BScN

Kendra is a Registered Nurse and has been serving at the Abbotsford Regional Hospital for the past nine years. She did her undergraduate work at Trinity Western University in Langley, British Columbia, and has since earned a specialty training certificate from the British Columbia Institute of Technology for working with premature infants. She first visited the land of Israel in 2013, and has subsequently audited a number of courses at Jerusalem University College whilst caring for two children (at the time) in the city of Jerusalem. Kendra looks back at her time living in Israel/Palestine fondly, and is excited to use her gifts to serve on our study tours at Sojourn as she is able.
